When do Botox results start to show?

Put to a salesperson, the question is: how soon will I see it? Two published sources give day counts, and they are not counting the same thing.

Day counts, quoted as written

About the days after the injection, my.clevelandclinic.org says: "most people notice the desired effects around the third or fourth day." The words are "most people" and "around", so the line describes a typical case and not a guarantee.

A woman checks her forehead lines in a bathroom mirror with her phone on the sink.

dermnetnz.org measures the muscle instead: "Muscle weakness is typically seen within two to four days, and maximal weakness or paralysis is noted around ten days." The first line is about noticing an effect. The second has an earlier point for weakness and a later point for maximal weakness.

The promise to hold against them

A promise of results by tomorrow is earlier than either line. A promise of a full result is a different matter, so ask which of the two the promise is about: noticing an effect, or maximal weakness.

The timing line to request

If the paperwork for your visit in Ann Arbor names a product, read it beside a review of why botulinum toxin type A products are not interchangeable. MedlinePlus on Botox injections and the botulinum toxin topic page at dermnetnz.org are further reading. Then ask for the timing in writing, using day counts and the word "around" only where the sources do.
